I’m a copywriter helping freelancers, makers, creatives, small business owners, multi-hyphenates, and other passionate entrepreneurial types write better.

Hi! I’m Zoe, Your local writer friend.

After I had my daughter in 2022, I wanted to find a way to work with the people who get it — the ones weaving their own creative, fulfilling careers alongside an equally creative and fulfilling family life.

Which is why I approach copywriting a wee bit differently in The Copyshop.

I give fellow small and solo business owners the confidence to write their own stories. 

I teach DIY copywriting in my flagship course, The Copy Percolator, I audit the copy you’ve already written in Takeout Copy, and I write done-with-you website copy for small business owners in Venti Copy.

A bit more about me:

I started blogging in 2016, then landed on my feet in a marketing job, where I learned the ropes of content strategy, SEO and copywriting. I experimented to grow my blog and started taking freelance writing clients on the side. I qualified as a journalist and had stories commissioned in the national press and online magazines.

Then I had my daughter and my whole world shifted and turned like a kaleidoscope.

Some things that I used to care about didn’t matter at all, and other things that had felt silly were suddenly urgent and essential. I wanted to spend as much time with my baby as I could, and I wanted to do purposeful work. I wanted to help people like me to strike a chord with their writing — alongside all the other things it takes to run a business whilst forging a life well-lived.

And that’s when I had the idea.

The Copyshop started as a single product: copy audits for small business owners. While the business has grown, the core concept is roughly still the same: helping small business friends write copy that builds a connection with their dream clients.
